The Fizz
Since I have been taking swing dance classes and loving it, on Monday night I went to Fizz, a bar right near the Belmont/Lincoln/Ashland intersection, for their swing dance night. It was as expected, at first awkward as hell, but then once more and more people got there, making me not stick out like a sore thumb for not dancing, it became great. There was amazing jazz and blues music, the people were genuinely nice to everyone and people were dancing everywhere. My cousin Carmel was dragged out on the dance floor, to her chagrin, by many a dude wanting a good looking dance partner. We both had a blast and loved that there is no pressure to dance. You do not, unless you are Carmel, who by the way is taking the classes with me, have to dance. So that is mostly what I did. I can't wait until next Monday when Fizz has their next swing night. I think I might start making it a small tradition and I know I will be dragging my friends to come along. Also If you wanted to the bar which is downstairs from the dancing looks like a pretty cool place it has good food and a really big beer garden which in the summer can't be beat.
